It will reassure you to know that we have the English Touring Board’s three-star rating on our properties. They are all maintained to the highest standards, are fully furnished and have excellent cooking facilities if you wish to eat in at any time.

Situated ‘within the walls’ and close to the City centre, this well furnished apartment is situated adjacent to a pleasant coffee shop just a few yards from Priory Park. A good base for exploring this cathedral city, much of it pedestrianised, with excellent shops and eating venues. The Festival Theatre and fine harbour popular with sailors and water sports enthusiasts is a ‘must’. There are shops and pubs within 50yds.

Here is just a taste of what you can see and do when you come and stay in one of our holiday properties. Within a radius of twenty miles there is a wealth of historic buildings, museums, windmills and watermills, gardens and parkland, vintage steam railway, National Trust properties, not to mention motor racing at Goodwood, the Royal Armouries at Portsmouth, the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth, cathedrals, Arundel Castle. Need I go on?


In Chichester itself, apart from the lovely shops and old town, there is the wonderful 900 year old cathedral and is the site of the Shrine of Sir Richard of Chichester. You can even take brass rubbing by appointment! 1½ miles west of Chichester is the Fishbourne Roman Palace. This was probably Roman Britain’s largest domestic building; the sumptuous home of King Tiberius Claudius Togidubnus. This site was extensively excavated in 1960.You can walk through the remains of the north wing of this magnificent 1st century Roman Palace, with many mosaic floors, under-floor heating systems and bath suite inside a covered building to protect it. . Tangmere Military Aviation Museum tells the story of Military Flying from the earliest days to the present day, with special emphasis on the Royal Air Force and the Air war over southern England in World War II. Wonderful exhibits of aircraft down the ages. Contact www.tangmere-museum.org.uk


Arundel Castle is 18 miles east of Chichester. It is the home of the Dukes of Norfolk and dates from the Norman Conquest, built in 11th century by Roger de Montgomery, Earl of Arundel. Among its many treasures it contains a fascinating collection of fine furniture, dating from the 16th century, tapestries, clocks and portraits by Van Dyck, Gainsborough, Reynolds etc. Contact www.arundelcastle.org


The National Trust have several houses and gardens in the area , among them Nymans Gardens, Handcross, Haywards Heath, West Dene Gardens, near Chichester. Contact: www.nationaltrust.org.uk


In need of sustenance? Why not visit a vineyard. Yes- vineyards do very well in this part of Sussex. Lurgeshall Winery near Petworth, contact: www.lurgashall.co.uk and Nutbourne Vineyard near Pulborough producing award winning wines. Contact: 017898 815196


Portsmouth harbour has a world class waterfront. For those who love sailing this must not be missed! See the world’s greatest historic ships – HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, the Mary Rose (Henry VIII’s favourite warship, sank in 1545 with 700 men aboard. 437 years later the world held its breath when she was finally recovered from the sea bed). Join the crew of a Type 23 frigate in a James Bond style action adventure. Then go hands on in the hi-tech exhibition area. Visit the Royal Armouries museum. Contact: www.armouries.org.uk


For the Motor Racing enthusiast why not visit Goodwood Race Track, 3 miles east of Chichester. This was home to British Motor Racing. They now run special festivals of speed. This year, 2001, there is one in July and September. Contact www.goodwood.co.uk
